PrimoPDF 4.1.0.9

I'm unable to print to XPS today on a Windows Vista SP1 computer using IE 7 which worked previously.

Since there is a new release of PrimoPDF, I installed it. But during printing, it gave an unhandled exception error as shown.

Opening Word Mobile Documents

I found that the Word Mobile on my LG KS20 PDA phone saves documents in docx format by default. Even saving as doc, rtf or txt on the PDA won't change the docx format. So, I can't open these files on my computer without Microsoft Office 2007. The Notes application will saves files as pwi format which also cannot be opened on a computer. In fact, there is no text editor on the PDA without resorting to third party utility.

Since there is no Word Viewer 2007 available, you've to download the following:
  1. Word Viewer 2003
  2. Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats
  3. Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 1
Why does Microsoft make it so complicated?

XPS Viewer EP

Previously, I have used PrimoPDF 4.0.25 to print web pages from Mozilla Firefox 3 to pdf files instead of printing directly to a printer to cut down on paper and toner usage. It works well on Windows XP SP3.

On another computer running Windows Vista, I have also installed the same version of PrimoPDF since it is supported on Vista. But printing from Internet Explorer 7 resulted in an exception error. In the end, I tried Microsoft XPS Document Writer to create the XPS file from the web pages. It worked but you need to download the XPS viewer to read the XPS file. This is similar to Adobe Acrobat reader.

Error with Explorer View for Windows Explorer

I encountered this access violation error in Windows Vista SP1 RC while viewing a pdf file. Not sure whether it is due to Explorer View or SP1. But, prior to installation of Explorer View, I have been running SP1 without any issue.
After this error, event log is unable to run, wifi is not working and some of Kaspersky's components fail to run. Even uninstalling Explorer View does not resolve the problems. In the end, I have to re-install Windows Vista. This is definitely not a good start to a new year and this software is not recommended.
