Disappearing System Tray Icon for Avira Premium Security Suite

The saga continues as reported on October 29, 2007 but I found a workaround as follows:

1. In Windows XP, go to Windows Task Manager by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del
2. Under Processes, look for avgnt.exe and click End Process
3. Close Windows Task Manager
4. Go to C:\Program Files\Avira Premium Security Suite and double click on avgnt.exe

Vista Windows Security Center Reports No Firewall/Malware Protection

If you have antivirus/firewall/antispyware software installed in Windows Vista and previously Windows Security Center detected it correctly and now it doesn't, then do the following :

1. Click Start and type cmd in Start Search
2. Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter
3. Click Continue when prompted by User Account Control
4. cd wbem
5. net stop winmgmt /y
6. ren repository repold
7. net start winmgmt
8. exit
9. Restart computer
