Tested the desktop CD which is a live CD as well on Eee PC without installation. The Atheros L2 fast ethernet network adapter is detected but not the wireless adapter. After assigning a static ip address to the network adapter, I am still unable to ping to my own ip address, the router or access the Internet. Encountered the same issue with another laptop Compaq TC1000 with a different network adapter.

Xubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon on Eee PC
Tested the desktop CD which is a live CD as well on Eee PC without installation. The Atheros L2 fast ethernet network adapter is detected but not the wireless adapter.
