Benchmarks of Intel Atom & Celeron

According to Engadget, using PCMark05 1.20, CPU score of Asus Eee PC 900 (1441) > MSI Wind (1159) > Asus Eee PC 4G (997). Graphics score of MSI Wind (490) > Asus Eee PC 900 (479) > Asus Eee PC 4G (326).

The above results may not be conclusive as different OS was compared. In fact, MSI Wind or Asus Eee PC 901 will be using Diamondville CPU N270 instead of Silverthorne Z520.

A better comparison is found at Eeepcnews where the same Windows XP OS is used. Using PCMark05, CPU score of Asus Eee PC 901 (1496) > Asus Eee PC 900 (1440).

HP 2133 Mini-Note PC in Singapore

Now available in Singapore and you can order online. The price S$1,199 is steeper than the same model in US at US$749. It looks like early adopters have to pay more unlike the time I bought Compaq Tablet TC1000 with an early bird discount.
If you can wait, according to the brochure, there will be other models available with Vista Home Basic, FreeDOS and SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10. This should bring the price down. Also, I don't see XP which is available in US as a option since XP drivers are already released.

Shipping Delay for HP 2133 Mini-Note PC

Looks like HP 2133 Mini-Note PC is following the trend of Asus Eee PC and Everex Cloudbook with numerous delays in shipping. The ship date has slipped from 22 April to 30 April and now to 1 May 2008.
Also, the picture shown is wrong. HP 2133 Mini-Note PC does not swivel. They can't seem to get their act together.
Well, now it seems that Asus will be ahead of HP with their launch of Eee PC 900 another 8.9" competitor. But, don't count on it.

Windows Vista Drivers for HP 2133 Mini-Note PC

The ship date for HP 2133 Mini-Note PC in US has been changed repeatedly from 15 April to 16 April and now to 22 April 2008. Availability for Asia Pacific will be end of April 2008. However, the drivers for Windows Vista Business and Home Basic have been released. But, drivers for SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 are still unavailable. Not sure whether HP will include a recovery CD for the SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop. Hopefully, they will learn from Everex who eventually released a recovery ISO download image for gOS on Cloudbook after complaints from customers.

As compared, Cloudbook has only 512MB memory with gOS Rocket operating system. CloudBook retails for US$399 whereas Ubud retails for Rp4.999.000.
